New book box!

This is an official thank-you post for an item of woody genius that we are delighted with.

Behold the microbe’s splendid new book box, hand-made by Pops (microbe’s grandpa) in his workshop and picked up this weekend…

Since his bedroom is now officially full, what we wanted was something that would look nice in our living room, to contain the heaving mass of ‘overflow’ books that reside in there and make it easy for James to get them in and out at will.  So – having given a very loose commission for something “a bit like this but nicer and in oak”, we’re all very impressed by the finished product.

C’est parfait!

And it tucks away into this corner…

And holds LOADS of books…

Thank you, Pops!

  1. That is a gorgeous future heirloom for the ‘crobe. I am slightly alarmed at his mop-top haircut, though. Also, Eat the Moguls in Twickers has an Elvis impersonator performing on 6th Dec. Wardy and I thought we should all go, and you should dress JimJam up as Elvis for the outing.
